Ralph C. Wilson, Jr., owner of the Buffalo Bills, was a life-long supporter of the Monday Quarterback Club. Back in 1960, Ralph met with area business people who supported the team, and the Touchdown Club was born. Later the name was changed to the Monday Quarterback Club, and over the years the group continued to meet for lunch after Bills home games. Up until recent years, Mr. Wilson was always present at our luncheons. He supported our organization in numerous ways, including with the institution of the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Distinguished Service award in 1986.
Mr. Wilson saw us as a group that represented dedicated business people, but most importantly as a group that loved his Buffalo Bills and professional football. Ralph will never be forgotten; he kept the team in Buffalo, and continuously voted against team relocations. He helped to create a national image for Buffalo, one that put the Western New York area on the map.
Our sympathies go out to the Wilson family, the Buffalo Bills, and the entire community of fans and friends of the team everywhere.
